Over the last 5 years PACR has provided visitors from all over the world with a one of kind, adrenaline filled experience from the tropical oasis known as Lake Arenal. PACR feels we have a responsibility to share this location with the many that visit Costa Rica throughout the year as it is truly unique. I have wakeboarded in some amazing spots in my life and feel fortunate to have found this wakeboard haven. This testimonial page is designed to provide feedback from the customers point of view. We are all different and there may be some areas of the services provided by PACR that were more memorable than others.
Paradise Adventures Costa Rica is a tour company that specializes in wakeboarding, wakeskating and surfing and NOW offers a variety of different tours throughout Costa Rica. PACR is growing quickly and with that growth we have added additional services and adventures that we are stoked to share with you, your group or family. Here is a list of some of the new experiences available :
White water rafting, zip lining, horseback riding, kayaking, boat tours of the beautiful 33 mile lake Arenal, night time lava tours, ATV, natural hot springs, waterfall and rope swing, surf trips, canyonering down waterfalls, fishing and transportation services.
Many travelers refer to Costa Rica as beach and Surf when really there is allot more to this amazing country then sand and ocean. PACR and other travel organizations efforts in spreading awareness of these areas has more vacationers venturing of the beach and away from their all inclusive hotels to get a better look and feel of what Costa Rica is about; Pura Vida not Pura Beera.

Costa Rica survives on tourism and is now recovering slowly from the financial dump that occurred over the last few years, 2010 showed a 5% return and next year’s predictions are even better.

La Fortuna – San Carlos – Costa Rica
Paradise Adventures Costa Rica La Fortuna is an enjoyable experience for all , with flowing rivers, natural hot springs, waterfalls, the 33 mile fresh water Lake Arenal, Cerro Chatto Lake , butterfly gardens and a large variety of accommodation and amenities. The many vacationers who find the Pure Vida return home feeling satisfied and relaxed.
One of the main reasons La Fortuna is such a go to destination, besides being PACR’s home, is the fact that it’s situated at the base, 4 miles to the Active Arenal Volcano. Visitors can get to Fortuna by bus, car or plane. The road from both of Costa Rica’s airports are paved, well marked with reflectors and scenic, the plane is a 12 passenger that flies low allowing you to see Costa Rica’s beautiful landscapes; sit back and enjoy the many waterfalls, rivers and volcanoes.
Coming from Liberia or San Jose takes about 3 hours by car and a little longer by bus. The local busses are super affordable, comfortable and safe, they can pretty much take you anywhere in the whole country. The road from San Jose is mainly straight. Coming from Liberia is hot and straight for the first 3 quarters; the final leg is up in the mountains, through the rain forest and around Lake Arenal
La Fortuna was designed to offer spectacular views of the active Arenal Volcano. The central park is full of tropical plants, flowers and lined with benches where you can sit and enjoy the volcanoes activity.Take a 10 minute drive to the North West side of the Volcano to witness flowing red lava,
The Arenal Volcano has its own National Park (Parque National Vulcan Arenal)
This almost 30, ooo acre national park allows visitors to get an even better understanding of the Arenal Volcano and a much closer look. The Flora and fauna found it this primary rain forest is some of the newest on earth. While walking the nature trails through the park you will see a large variety of birds. This area of the country is home to 75% of the over 840 different species in Costa Rica, you may get lucky and see the rare resplendent quetzal.
There are many animals who call the Parque National , Volcano Arenal Home; bellow is a list of a few: Moose, Deer, Monkeys, Jaguars, Sloths and abundance of snakes including the Fer-de-Lance.
The fer-de-lance's'(spearhead' in French). It is the most dangerous snake in Central and South America, and causes more human deaths than any other American reptile. On average, a fer-de-lance injects 105mg of venom in one bite, although a venom yield of up to 310mg has been recorded while milking them. The fatal dose for a human is 50mg.
Do not worry…I have yet in 10 years to see or hear of anyone being bitten from one.. The parks do a great job at keeping the trails cleaned and have anti venom available.
There are many other activities available from La Fortuna and the surrounding area besides the park and Volcano; the majority of them with the volcano in your sites. The most popular tours in the area include relaxing in the various hot springs, sport fishing, white water rafting , repelling down waterfalls, zip lining through the rain forest, horseback riding in the tropical jungle through rivers and alongside the volcano, ATV adventures and , wakeboarding at the base of the active Arenal Volcano on Lake Arenal.
There are plenty of trials in the area; one I highly recommend is the climb to Cerro Chatto Lake. Vulcan Chatto is a dormant volcano; its crater is filled from hundreds of year of rain fall. It is an intense uphill hike to over 3,500 feet but I assure you it is worth every step of the way. Park hours are from 8am to 6pm and the entrance fee is currently $6.
The La Fortuna Waterfall: Take a short 4klm hike from La Fortuna and you will be standing up top of the 230 foot waterfall. Gaze upon the power of water as it rolls of and dumps into the fresh rejuvenating pools bellow. Hike down the base to the pools to recharge, relax and take some photos. Waterfalls are open from 8-6pm and have an entrance fee of $9.

Wakeboard magazines Million dollar, lake front, dream house, in Orlando Florida will be filled for a week with pro riders like Parks Bonifay, Rusty Malinoski and Dany Harf.
Instructions and demonstration from the pro’s, riding the latest and greatest wakeboarding equipment, behind the world’s top wakeboarding boats.
Other activities include hitting up some of Orlando FL. hot spots, like the Orlando Watersports Complex and kicking it at Performance ski and surf.

Wakeboard Events – Costa Rica
BOARD UP’s, Pan American Wakeboard Championship in Miami
There will be riders from all over the world at this event starting April 23- 25.
BOARD UP was created by Miami Sports International and has been a huge player in the wakeboarding industry since 2006. Using television and creating a festive atmosphere for people of all ages to enjoy.
An amateur competition and a concert are also on the list of activities; this is a party you will not want to miss.
BAORD will also be hosting the 2009 wakeboarding US OPEN

Stuart Shinn takes home the move of the year award, and deemed most improved rider by Alliance, Wake
board magazine. Keep your eye on this guy he is turning up the heat, giving riders a whole different level to live up.
Congratulation CWB for creating yet another successful product for riders like Stuart Shinn. The 2009 line up looks great, your innovation is recognized and is being ridden and talked about by many.
Stu has been creating lots of noise on the wakeboard and wakeskate scene. Winner of wake awards move of year and Alliance, Wakeboard Magazine most improved rider, wohoo… keep it up Stu you are giving riders new tricks to learn and new levels to live up to.
Some of the riding Stu has been displaying to earn these awards includes huge tricks like back big’s and wake to wake 360 backside big spins. Not everyday riders are able to bang out these big tricks; especially on a wakeskate.
